Children go 'bodyboarding' on flooded road in the Philippines following heavy downpours

These children had fun on a flooded dual carriageway using road signs to go bodyboarding.

Heavy rain from tropical depression Dodong caused floods in the Manila area of the Philippines on June 25.

Kids woke up for school and began playing in the deluge, splashing in the impromptu pool and using loose road signs to surf.

They were filmed diving into the knee-high rain water as passing cars made their morning commute.

Resident Niel Atup said: "Our roads become swimming pools during the rainy season. Even the cars get to swim.

''Delivery trucks had a hard time unloading their goods while it was flooded.''
