China's first baby born from transplanted womb


A Chinese woman received a womb donated by her mother gave birth to a healthy baby boy in northern China's Xi'an City last Sunday (January 20).

The video shows the 2kg baby boy lying in an incubator and the boy’s grandmother holding his footprints in a frame.

The 26-year-old woman Yang Hua was diagnosed as having been born without a uterus in hospital in 2015 and received a womb when her mother successfully donated hers the same year.

It was considered to be China’s first and the world’s 14th baby to be born from a transplanted womb, according to reports.
