Curious killer whale investigates tourist boat in the Strait of Georgia in rare sight

This whale watching tour group got the surprise of a lifetime when an orca became curious and went up to examine their boat.

The clip, filmed in August 2018 shows an orca investigating the boat with the sightseers watching him in awe.

“While out whale watching in the Strait of Georgia, we came across a familiar group of whales known as the T137s. They are known to be curious whales but I have never had an experience like this before!” Says the filmer Gary Sutton.

“An incredibly rare occurrence and should be noted that this is not regular behaviour and was totally the animals' decision. Boats should maintain the 200-yard distance when possible. On this particular occasion, T137B broke the rules,” he continued.
