Customers flee in panic as powerful winds blow off bar’s roof in southern India

This is the moment mother nature interrupts patrons enjoying their drink at a local bar.

About thirty customers had gathered at a bar in Tirupur in southern India on May 6 when heavy rain accompanied by strong winds hit the town.

As the customers watched anxiously, the creaky asbestos roof of the bar started rumbling. It soon crumbled and a few splinters fell to the ground.

CCTV footage at the bar shows anxious customers hurrying to finish their drink and flee to safety outside. As they ran out, some of them fortunately missed flying debris as well.

Police said the incident occurred at the government-owned liquor outlet, Tasmac number 3439, in Kulipalyam. “Luckily none was hurt,” one officer said.
