Dominant bull hippo shows teeth to herd of buffalo

A bull hippo in Kruger National Park, South Africa, shows off his enormous teeth to a herd of buffalo.

"Big male hippos are one of the most dangerous animals on the African continent and extremely territorial in behaviour," said the filmer. "Dominant bulls typically display their status through wide-mouth yawns that exhibit their formidable canine teeth. These are instruments of defence, not feeding."

However, the buffalo apparently appeared a little bored by the spectacle and continued to drink water.
