Dozens of bush fires burn in Victoria and Tasmania states as heatwave sweeps across Australia

Wildfires are burning in parts of Victoria and Tasmania as the country sees record-high temperatures, with some residents told to evacuate before it is too late to leave.

This video, filmed around 4 pm on January 25, shows a cumulus cloud from the blaze in Victoria's East Gippsland region. The fire grew from 400 hectares this morning to more than 5,500 hectares by around 5:30 pm.

This comes as power outages hit tens of thousands of homes and businesses in what’s shaping up to be the hottest day in 10 years, according to a local news source.
