Driver has to reverse to escape burning truck full of exploding butane tanks

A shocked driver in the Philippines had to quickly reverse after a truck carrying butane canisters caught fire and exploded in front of his car.

The motorist, David Piramide, was following behind the vehicle when flames emerged as it drover down the middle of the highway in Negros Oriental on March 8.

The truck driver, along with his companion, were able to get out of the truck safely. The fire was followed by explosions. The truck driver claimed that the estimated 50 cases of butane refill canisters suddenly burst into flames.

David, who witnessed the road fire, said: ''It's a miracle that nobody was injured in the accident.''
