Drone footage shows extent of Ocado warehouse blaze in Andover

The extent of the blaze at an Ocado warehouse in Hampshire can be revealed in this recently emerged drone footage.

Footage shows the warehouse ablaze and a huge plume of smoke rising into the air.

Areas surrounding the online supermarket's warehouse in Andover were evacuated to maintain safety after fears of a toxic gas leak or a large cylinder explosion.

The exclusion zone was 500 meters around the site. It affected parts of the Andover area in Hampshire to keep the public safe from a risk of a toxic release or a large cylinder explosion, according to local reports.

It took over 200 firefighters more than 24 hours to bring the fire under control when the warehouse went up in flames on Tuesday morning (February 5).

The firm confirmed no members of the Ocado team or the public were injured in the fire.

In a statement this morning (February 7), Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the evacuation area has been lifted.
