European Wildcats Hunting Field Mice

Occurred on June 21, 2019 / Dohr, Eifel, Germany

Info from Licensor: "For many years I have watched wild cats. Here lives one of the numerically strongest populations in Western Europe. The animals are very shy and you always need good luck to see them during the day. If the meadows are freshly mowed, then mice are easy to capture and I was fortunate that this evening two cats went to the same meadow and met there. A hare was also present and kept an eye on the cat while she passed him without fleeing. The cat completely ignored him, she knew the rabbit had seen her. Wildcats can overwhelm mature hare, but there were plenty of mice here and the exhausting fight was superfluous to the cat."
