Exclusive footage shows moment man barricaded at Culver City motel is removed by officers after shooting

Guests at a motel in Culver City, Los Angeles County, were evacuated after an armed and suicidal man shot at police offers on Monday.

Culver City police arrived at the Ramada Inn at around 5:30 am upon a radio call to conduct a welfare check. When the officers tried to speak with the person, he fired multiple shots through the door at them. Nobody was hit by bullets and the officers did not fire back.

According to local media, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department crisis counselors and its Special Enforcement Bureau were then called to assist.

This footage, filmed by a guest staying on the second floor of the hotel at around 8:40 am, shows a large team of officers approaching the door again. Soon after, they are seen handcuffing and removing the man, sitting him down and looking through his identification.

Shortly after 1 pm, police announced that the armed suspect had been taken into custody. No additional details or the suspect's identity were disclosed.
