Extinction Rebellion shut off busy London road in protest of new tunnel proposal

Climate change activist group Extinction Rebellion have blocked a busy road in London in protest of proposed plans to build a tunnel in Greenwich.

Activists blockaded a Blackwall Tunnel slip road off the A102 on August 9 with a banner reading "the air that we grieve".

The demonstration is in protest of the proposed Silvertown Tunnel, which would connect the Greenwich Peninsula and west Silvertown, and intends to relieve congestion through the Blackwall Tunnel.
