Farmer Finds Snapping Turtles Under the Ice

Info from Licensor: "I was checking out my farm pond in my cattle pasture and came upon all these turtles under the ice in the shallows. I have seen this phenomenon before when the conditions are right. The ideal conditions is to have thin clear ice on a sunny day. And the turtles will come up in the shallows seeking the warm sunshine through the ice to warm up. This pond is located in southeast Iowa. Credit: Paul Fountain II"
