Fearless dog fights a wild lion in India
An astonishing video has gone viral in India showing a dog fighting with a wild lion.
The clip, which was captured recently in Gir National Park in the state of Gujarat, shows the fearless pooch scrapping with the big cat before running off unharmed.
Gir National Park and its surroundings are the last remaining habitat of the Asiatic lion.
The species has recovered from the brink of extinction and there are now about 650 individuals, according to a 2017 report.
About a third of those animals now reside outside the protected area of the park which means an increase in conflicts with humans and, it now seems, dogs.
