Fearless villager saves calf by attacking lion with a stick in northern India

A man from a village in Gujarat saved a calf by attacking a lion with a stick.

The incident happened on June 18 when the lion entered Mota Barman village in Khambha taluka of Amreli district searching for food.

Footage shows a herd of cows running away from the raging lion which pounces on a calf.

On spotting the lion attacking the calf, the villager Vadher rushes to pick a stick and violently throws it at the lion.

The feline then drops the calf and runs away from the property.

Vadher said that the area has lions roaming freely and that he is used to big cats attacking their cattle. ''Living with big cats around has become a way of life,” he says.
