Firefighters break drain cover to get ID card back for student in China

Firefighters broke the cover of a drain to get an ID card back for a student, who was going to take the university entrance exam in southern China.

The video, filmed in Yibin City in Sichuan Province today (June 7), shows a fireman using a hammer to smash the drain cover and another fireman using a shovel to remove it.

Then the fireman took an ID card out from the drain and returned it back to the student.

According to reports, the student dropped his ID card down the drain accidentally and could not retrieve it.

Firefighters arrived on site within five minutes and helped the student get his ID back before the exam started.
