Flooding starts in Gulf towns two days before Hurricane Michael makes landfall

Beaches along the Gulf saw churning waves and high tides on Monday, October 8, as Hurricane Michael tracked closer.

Forecast to make landfall in the Florida Panhandle on Wednesday, Michael was upgraded from a tropical storm to a hurricane earlier in the day.

Footage from Dauphin Island, Alabama, shows a drive-shot through waterlogged roads as low-level flooding began to hit.

Authorities predict that it will be the area's strongest hurricane in at least 13 years.
