Floodwaters almost sweep biker off cliff in Honduras

This is the dramatic moment raging floodwaters in Honduras almost swept a biker over a cliff at the side of a road.

Flooding in a rural northern area of the country had sent torrents of water flowing over the road on May 10.

With no option to wait for the floodwaters to subside, several motorists decided to cross the treacherous section.

A video shows a Landrover make the crossing successfully.

Next, a biker drives out into the fast-flowing floodwaters but he is knocked off his vehicle and the water starts to push him towards the edge of the road and the huge drop below.

"Let go of the bike," onlookers shout.

The biker wisely heeds their advice and is hauled to safety on the other side of the dangerous section of flooded road.
