Footage shows conditions of shower area at migrant shelter by US-Mexico border


Migrants at the US-Mexico border are facing increasingly squalid conditions as they wait for their claims to be processed.

This video, filmed on November 27, shows the area where a number of temporary shower stalls have been set up, with pieces of cloth draped across as makeshift curtains.

For food, migrants are relying on donations from charities and small business owners,

Sunday's protests turned into violent unrest, leading to US border patrol guards firing tear gas to disperse crowds. Tijuana police said 39 migrants were arrested.

According to authorities, fewer than a hundred claims are being passed a day at the border.
