Forest officials rescue wild elephant and crane him off to sanctuary in east India

Forest officials in east India rescued a wild elephant that had wandered into a residential area and transported it to a sanctuary earlier this week (May 1).

Around 24 hours after the wild jumbo strayed from Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary into the Sixmile residential area in Guwahati, Assam on April 30, it was driven back and deposited via crane allowing it to wander off freely.
