Freezing polar vortex leaves Toronto lakefront encased in ice


Chilling images have come from the lakefront of Toronto, Canada during the polar vortex, as the combination of freezing winds and lake spray have left the shore encased in ice.

Footage from yesterday morning (January 30) shows coin-operated binoculars and ropes on the pier at Burlington on the shores of Lake Ontario, sealed in a thick coat of ice shaped into ribbed icicles by the wind.
