Furious cobra rescued from beer can in east India

A furious monocled cobra was rescued after getting its head trapped in a beer can in eastern India yesterday (19 February).

The incident happened in Bhadrak district, Odisha state, when professional snake rescuer Mirza Mohd Arif was called in to save the trapped reptile, cutting open the can with a knife while the snake writhed and tossed angrily.

The cobra emerged quickly and bit a glove which was placed on the ground to distract it, allow Arif to seize it and place it in a plastic container. Later it was released into the forest.
