Georgia's presidential candidate hands out 'marijuana joints' to the public

Georgia’s presidential candidate Zurab Japaridze of the Girchi party was captured handing ‘’marijuana joints’’ to the public at a cannabis legalisation festival.

Footage captured on October 20 in Tbilisi shows Japaridze giving a few suspicious-looking cigarettes to his supporters whilst attending the media.

The leader of the party was later arrested since the distribution of cannabis is illegal in Georgia. Supporters attempted to intervene in his arrest with some jumping on a police car.

Hundreds participated in the event which was organised by the opposition Girchi party, although unauthorised by the authorities.
