German astrophotographer demonstrates the power of telescopes when used in the sun

An astrophotographer from Jena, Thuringia demonstrated the fiery power of a telescope when it harnesses the heat from direct sunlight on Monday (June 24).

Footage shows numerous objects and materials being placed under the lens of the telescope resulting in the concentrated light creating intense heat causing burning in a matter of seconds.

The filmer said: "I wanted to test how powerful a sun-directed telescope is, that's what came out of it."
