Giant face-changing terracotta warrior to be removed after only one day

A giant terracotta warrior that displayed visitors' faces in a Chinese city will be removed due to mixed reactions after it has been lit up for only one day.

In the video, shot in Xi'an City in northern China's Shaanxi Province on January 28, a man sits on a chair to get his face scanned and projected onto the giant terracotta warrior in a small room behind the sculpture.

According to reports, the terracotta warrior was opened to the public on January 28 and got popular online quickly.

The 3D modelling technology used would project a person's face onto the terracotta warrior for around three minutes, reports said.

However, the city's publicity department has announced that the terracotta warrior was to be removed after only one day because of the mixed responses from citizens.
