Greater Manchester golf club flooded with 6 inches of water

A golf club in Greater Manchester was subject to torrential rain over the weekend and workers were still getting rid of floodwater yesterday (July 28).

Saddleworth Golf Club's professional's shop - which is run by PGA professional Andrew Earlam - was deluged with 6 inches of water, while employees had to sweep water from the shop floor.

Initially, the relief efforts were supported by two pumps, which were extracting water over the weekend.

The filmer explained: "Heavy rain overnight on Friday along with a blocked drain outside the professional's shop, Andy Earlam, caused flooding of the shop and outside.

"We had two pumps on the go and finally gained control of the water late on Sunday night.

"The shop was 6 inches deep in water at times."
