Hailstones "the size of quail eggs" batter Moscow region of Russia
A witness described hailstones "the size of quail eggs" battering the Moscow region of Russia on Thursday.
A video showed the icy pellets pummelling a road and several vehicles in the Krasnogorsk district.
According to the filmer, the hailstorm took locals by surprise as there were hardly any clouds in the sky at the time.
The hail was accompanied by very strong winds which downed trees and also caused flooding, according to an eyewitness.
