Shocking video show dozens of Hindu worshippers piercing their skin with metal hooks in a mark of atonement during an annual festival in Pondicherry, southern India.

The Panguni Uthiram festival, which means “Full Moon of Divine Marriages", is celebrated annually during the full moon of the Tamil month of Panguni, during the month of March.
