Hundreds of guests flee Thai hotel after fire breaks out

Hundreds of guests fled a hotel in Pattaya, a city on Thailand's eastern Gulf coast, in the early hours of October 31 after a fire broke out in one of the rooms.

According to local media, the fire began on the 12th floor of the Grand Jomtien Palace.

Footage shows firefighters arriving to tackle the flames while guests leave the building.

Investigators believe the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit. It took them 30 minutes to bring the flames under control, preventing them from spreading throughout the building.

They said there were 300 guests in the hotel at the time and all of them were evacuated safely without any injuries.
