Hundreds take part in annual Boxing Day charity dip in Yorkshire seaside town

Tourists flocked to Whitby, North Yorkshire on Wednesday to watch hundreds of people take part in the annual Boxing Day dip, which sees participants brave the cold temperatures of the North Sea for charity.

The event, which is run by the Whitby District Lions Club, has been taking place for over 45 years in which local citizens and tourists gather along the piers and on the beach to cheer the dippers on.

Participants dress up in fancy dress or wear next to nothing. In this video, one group can be dressed as dinosaurs with their very own cave woman.
