Impressive video captures demolition of colonial-era bridge in India

This is the moment a bridge built in India under the British Raj was blown up by dynamite after being deemed too dangerous by the authorities.

The bridge spanned the Kalu River in Thane District in the west-central state of Maharashtra.

The bridge was blown up on Monday (December 3) in an event watched by thousands, according to local sources.

A year ago, authorities had banned heavy-duty vehicles from crossing the bridge.
