Instant Crystal Bubbles on a Cold Morning

Occurred on January 25, 2026 / Berthoud, Colorado, USA

Info from Licensor: "Frozen bubbles have become a winter tradition for me. This morning it was around 7°F, cold enough for instant crystals to form, and watching each bubble freeze never gets old. Elsa joined in for a little extra winter magic.

Recipe for frozen bubbles:
• 2 cups hot water
• 5 Tbsp Dawn blue dish soap
• 5 Tbsp Karo corn syrup
• 3.5 Tbsp sugar (optional for crystals)
• Wide straw & container
• Cold, calm day (8°F or below)

Tips: Chill your solution, add Karo for stability, sugar for crystal formation, use a wide straw, and capture them in sunlight for the best colors. Credit: Meagan schrecengost"
