It’s a boy! Manatee gives birth to a healthy-looking calf in Netherlands zoo
An adorable manatee calf has been born in Burgers' Zoo in Arnhem, Netherlands.
In the video, the six-day-old manatee can be seen staying close to its mum swimming around their enclosure.
The staff at the zoo could only guess that the Caribbean manatee was pregnant before she gave birth, as she was too large for an ultrasound and marine biologists say the scan would have caused too much unnecessary stress.
