Local citizens collect oysters blown onto beach by typhoon Lekima in China

People from eastern China's Qingdao city collected oysters that have been blown onto the beach by typhoon Lekima on August 12.

In the video, a large number of people used tools to pick the oysters, sea snails and clams piled on the beach.

They can be seen using the rakes to break the oysters before putting them into plastic buckets.

A woman named Xu said she went to collect the oysters from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm without having lunch.

According to an employee from the Marine Development Authority, the wild oysters which are hard to find are larger and taste better.
