Man removed from bridge over London's Central Line

A man has been removed from a bridge over London Underground's busy Central Line during this evening's rush-hour (May 30).

Video filmed by a passenger near Leyton Station on the Central Line shows emergency responders on the bridge.

The service is experiencing significant delays.

"People had been stuck on the trains near the station for 45 minutes until it was clear for the train to go under," filmer Chris, a Londoner, said.

The official Twitter account for the Central Line tweeted: "The individual has now been removed from the bridge. We are making arrangements to turn the traction current back on and resume service hopefully within the next 20 minutes."

Earlier, British Transport Police tweeted: "Officers are currently at Leyton Underground station following concerns for the welfare of a person in a precarious position."
