Memorial flowers placed on Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee's Hollywood Walk of Fame star

Authorities from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and Hollywood Historic Trust, as well as fans, placed flowers on Stan Lee's star along the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, November 12, following the death of the Marvel Comics icon.

Lee passed early on Monday morning at the age of 95. TMZ celebrity news website reported that an ambulance was called early to his home in Hollywood Hills, and he later died when brought to Cedar-Sinai Medical Center. The cause of death remains unknown.

The Marvel Comics writer co-created dozens of now-iconic comic-book heroes, including Spider-Man, X-Men, the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and Black Panther.

"By the end of the night, I think this will be full of flowers because the fans, they're sad, they're grieving," Hollywood Chamber of Commerce event producer Ana Martinez said. "They loved this man, he was an icon."
