Parisians dive into canal to stay cool during heatwave

Parisians line up on a bridge over the city's largest artificial stretch of water and dive in to cool off as temperatures soar throughout Europe.

The filmer tweeted the video, captured on Thursday, of a group jumping into the Bassin de la Villette open-air pool with the caption: "One way to keep cool in Paris in the summer: dive into the canal."

The filmer also goes on to say that bikes and motorbikes were only fished out the canal the week before.

According to parisinfo.com, Bassin de la Villette is, at 800 metres long and 70 metres wide, the biggest artificial stretch of water in the French capital. It links the canal de l’Ourcq to the canal Saint-Martin.
