Petrol station workers react quickly when car fuel tank ignites at petrol pump

Two brave and quick-thinking workers in a petrol station in northwestern China extinguished flames that burst from a car's fuel tank in only 17 seconds.

The CCTV video, shot in Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on February 17, shows a ball of fire suddenly coming out of the fuel tank on a car while the driver and a worker are refuelling it at a petrol pump.

The worker runs away and presses the button to cut the power immediately, and then comes back with another worker to put out the fire with an extinguisher.

Thanks to regular safety drills, the two female workers extinguished the fire in only 17 seconds.
