Pilot Crashes RC Jet Aircraft

Occurred on October 1, 2022 / Ogden, Utah, USA

Info from Licensor: "I was at an RC Airplane event at an RC Field called NURCAC in Ogden, Utah. I was there to fly my electric RC Planes and film content for my TikTok channel, RC Air Shenanigans. Later in the day professional licensed RC turbine jet pilots were allowed to fly. (These are RC aircraft with small fuel powered jet engines.) The pilot in the video had just completed an approximately 5 minute flight and began setting up for landing. On his final turn to land on the runway, he misjudged the distance to the power lines. This slight miscalculation (maybe two feet) proved to be a catastrophic and costly (over $10,000) mistake. The aircraft struck the nose gear, then left wing, and finally the tail on the top of the power pole, and then the debris came down on top of the power lines, connecting the bottom line with the top line and producing the ensuing arc flash.
