Police respond to suspcious package in Weymouth
Weymouth police were called Tuesday afternoon after a reports of a suspicious item the Lantern Trust on Ranelagh Road.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "As a precaution the building has been evacuated and the surrounding area cordoned off while enquiries are carried out to establish what the item is."
The Army’s bomb disposal team was also called to attend and the station and roads were evacuated.
It was later confirmed that the item did not pose a threat.
