Protests continue across Colombia as students and educators demand more resources for public universities

Teachers and students in at least seven cities around Colombia continued their protest against the nation's lack of resources for public education on Tuesday, October 23.

Protestors are demanding that the government comply with agreements that were signed in 2017, which includes salary increases, more classrooms, higher funding and further education opportunities for teachers.

According to local media, the National Federation of Education Workers (Fecode), has begun a 24-hour national strike as several teachers and one student continue their hunger strikes.
