Residents in Chinese town rescue tourists trapped in SUV before it sunk into flooded river


Residents rescued five tourists trapped in an SUV before it sank into the flooded Li River in southern China.

The video, shot in Xingping town in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on July 13, shows a red SUV being submerged by the flooded Li River and nearby rescuers and the scenic spot staff rafting to save them.

Five people were pulled out of the SUV one-by-one and they were all saved right before the car was totally submerged by the flooded river.

According to local reports, the five tourists attempted to drive across the flooded road but their car was washed into the Li River.

The rescued tourists were all sent to hospital where they were deemed unharmed.
