Scuffles break out as police force their way into London climate protest

Scuffles broke out on Saturday as London City police forced their way into the middle the Extinction Rebellion climate change rally on Parliament Square to try to stop protestors digging up the ground.

According to the Extinction Rebellion website, it is "a group of activists that have been working together since 2016 in a group called Rising Up!.. but it is fast becoming a decentralised mass movement belonging to everyone who cares about our future."

Recent protests have seen the climate activists graffiti UK government departments and block London bridges.
