Standoff between police and protesters in Hong Kong's Yuen Long district
There were tense scenes at the latest protest in Hong Kong.
Here a female protester asks the police to shoot her, as a police liaison officer in a blue vest tries to speak to her.
The protests began weeks ago, originally against an extradition bill with mainland China, now broadened to include demands for greater democracy and complaints about police inaction when triad-linked gangs attacked people in the Yuen Long area last week.
