Storm Freya brings heavy snowfall to Dublin

Snow has hit many parts of Ireland on Sunday (March 3) and temperatures are expected to plummet again overnight.

Video filmed this afternoon shows snow falling in Dublin.

"Storm Freya brought torrential rains and snow," said the filmer.

Local media says the entire country has been placed under a Status Yellow snow/ice warning, valid from 19:00 on Sunday night until 8:00 on Monday morning.

Dublin Airport's official Twitter feed tweeted earlier this evening that the airport "is open & operational." It added: "Some airlines are experiencing delays to their flight schedules as a result of de-icing issues. Passengers are advised to check with their airline for latest flight updates."
