Studio inks #ButteStrong tattoos to honour victims of devastating Camp Fire

As donation drives and fundraising efforts come underway for those displaced by the Camp Fire, one tattoo studio is inking symbols of hope for those who wish to immortalize the the tragedy that, while devastating, has showed the hope and spirit of the community in this trying time.

12 Volt Tattoo in Chico, about 15 miles from the ravaged town of Paradise, is inking the "Butte Strong" design consisting of simple black lines joining to form the shape of California and a heart to indicate Butte County.

The studio is charging $50 for the tattoo, with proceeds donated to Camp Fire relief efforts.

"We designed the #ButteStrong design for the heroes and the victims and their friends and families to remember the day they refused to die," the owner of 12 Volt Tattoo said. "The response has been overwhelming, and we are honored to hear their stories and be a part of their healing process."

As of local reports on November 21, the death toll of the fire stands at 84, with over 800 lives still unaccounted for.
