Tension rises at Diavata camp as hundreds of refugees who demand travel in northern Europe countries, clash with police for third day

Refugees in Diavata camp in northern Greece clashed with police on Saturday for the third day in a row as they continued to demand the right to travel to northern Europe.

A video showed them hurling rocks at police who responded with tear gas.

The migration route through Macedonia was closed down in 2016 but these refugees, whose move is in response to social media calls, are hoping their presence will prompt the route to re-open.
