These fire-walking Buddhist monks in Japan certainly won't to be getting cold feet

Buddhist monks in Japan take part in a fire-walking tradition where they must walk across a stretch of burning coal.

During the Hiwatari festival at a temple on Mount Takao, west of Tokyo,
the monks take part in this annual ritual to pray for world peace, good health and receive protection from misfortune.

Once the flames are extinguished and the temperature of the coal has reduced, visitors can take part in the ceremony.

The annual event is held on the second Sunday of March.
