Tourists amazed as whale shark breaches inches from their boat off the Philippines

A whale shark swims right beside a boat full of tourists in Tondaligan, Pangasinan, the Philippines on June 10.

The boat, carrying a family of holidaymakers, were in awe when the whale shark first appeared swimming close to them and finally came so close to their boat that they could actually see it through the water.

Aika Jezreel was one of the tourists on the boat who witnessed the rare event. She said: ''We had a morning boat ride at the beach in Bonuan Tondaligan with my husband and our son, my big brother and his son, and our mom when someone meters away from us is waving at us from the water.''
