Towns cut off, evacuation instructions in NorCal as Russian River floods


The swollen Russian River in northern California, caused major flooding in Sonoma County on Wednesday.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office has instructed people to "evacuate now if you live near the Russian River."

The towns of Monte Rio and Guerneville are completely cut off and presently only reachable by boat. Local media is speculating that the present situation could be the worst flooding since 1997.
