Trains torched in Cape Town

Two trains were set alight at a Cape Town station Tuesday, shortly after the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) announced a multi-million pound loss.

A preliminary investigation suggested that overhead electrical wiring above the two platforms was damaged, Metrorail told IOL.

The fire and rescue services extinguished the blaze. While no serious injuries were reported, trains were subsequently cancelled on the Cape Flats line.
